During a year spent as a traveling street performer; playing her gypsy violin, Vadra first met Sculptor, Painter & Jeweler Zsolt Szalay in Santa Barbara, CA just before her 21st birthday.
He and his studio partners adopted this wandering street busker and taught her the basics of metalsmithing as well as the skills & importance of making & adapting your own hand tools.
Most Notably Zsolt taught her the Eastern European technique of reppousse, an early influence that literally "stamps" everything Vadra has ever made since.
Please enjoy these examples of Vadra's work from 1991 through 2004
